Commercial Vehicle/HGV Technician
Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an experienced Commercial Vehicle/HGV Technician to join our Workshop team. The role will involve service, repair and maintenance to a high standard, commercial vehicles from Vans to HGVs.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will have responsibility for:
- Routine service and maintenance of vans and HGVs in line with DVSA standards
- Complete MOT prep and inspections
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, legal requirements and company policies
- Driving standards, safety and professionalism at all times
- Use PPE and tools properly
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop
- Willing to work overtime, shifts, or call-outs when needed
- Understand COSHH, manual handling, and risk assessments
- Record keeping in conjunction with an office-based team
Qualifications / Experience / Skills:
- Must have 3+ years’ experience of Commercial Vehicle / HGV fitting
- Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
- City and Guilds/NVQ level 3/BTEC or equivalent in engineering discipline
- Knowledge of ancillary equipment desirable (Crane, Hydraulics, electrical etc)
- PMI / MOT knowledge
- Must have a full driving licence (essential)
- HGV licence (preferable)
- Professional attitude
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records
- Good communication skills
- Computer literate
- Some degree of flexibility may be necessary to accommodate occasional early starts and late finishes as and when required.

Remuneration:
- Rate of £18.75 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- 22 days paid holiday plus statutory Bank Holidays
